CardExchange v 5.1.2.0 Upgrade New Features

While CardExchange 3.0 was mainly a release to improve Windows Vista compatibility Release 5.0 has incorporated a number of new features that make it a significant and worthwhile upgrade.

The first thing you will notice after upgrading to version 5.0 is that it has implemented the MS Office 2007 Style Ribbon Bar as the main menu system. don't be alarmed if you have had a poor experience with Office 2007, with an application like CardExchange the Ribbon Menu works very well as each ribbon shows an icon for every menu item normally found under that heading. If your still daunted by this change the Development Team at ExchangeIT have given you the choice to revert to the Classic CardExchange interface through simple selection.

Version 5 is a FREE upgrade for 3.x users, if you have version 2.x or erlier email sales@ppc.com.au for upgrade options, its inexpensive and easy to upgrade, though some templates from version 2.x may not be compatible with 5.x

Optional Module Changes and Improvements
FaceFind Module	Improved functionality of FaceFind, great automated cropping for imported images or camera sources. Image zoom can now be handled using a slider, a numeric field or mouse scroll wheel. New feature to keep original image, to avoid face cropped image to be stored over the original one

Contactless Module Mifare 4th Access Bit	When setting the access conditions in hexadecimal format, using the three‐dots button, a fixed value for the fourth access byte or General Purpose Byte can be added if desired.

Contactless Module MIFARE® ‐ SCM contactless reader	The SCM contactless reader is supported using PC/SC 1.0 compliant commands and the T=1 protocol. The same interface is used as default for any unknown PC/SC reader.

Contactless Module MIFARE® ‐ PC/SC readers	The reader selection list now automatically shows all PC/SC readers.

Card Designer Interface Improvements and Additional Features
Fit to Card	A FitToCard property has been added to all views. For picture views, FitToCard overrides the setting of the Align property and is equivalent to Align = baClient. FitToCard and AutoSize are mutually exclusive.

Rounded Corners	Rounded corners are supported for picture objects. For each corner, the curvature radius can be set independently. For a curvature radius bigger than half the size of the image, the curvature switched to a elliptic behavior. In the limit for large curvatures, the image becomes an ellipse.

Image Tools	ImageExchange® has been integrated into the Designer. An Edit button has been added to the picture editor to enable cropping and color enhancement from the designer.

Passé partout	A property called Passé partout has been added to the picture object. The passé partout is an image that will be projected over the content image. The areas in the content image that correspond to the light areas of the passé partout will be made transparent. This allows for giving the images on the card design an arbitrary shape.
