Supplier Questionnaire - Modern Slavery

PPC has an ethical responsibility to ensure the reduction of modern slavery. This questionnaire enables us to understand our supply chain and the risks of supporting modern slavery and compliance with requests from our customer base. What is Modern Slavery and Modern Slavery Laws?

Modern slavery broadly speaking is used to describe the violation of fundamental human rights. This includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, forced marriage, debt bondage, deceptive recruiting for labour or services, child labour, and human trafficking.

The introduction of the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) (the Act) requires businesses to do more to address the risks of modern slavery. The Act requires large organisations to lodge annual statements which explain what they are doing to assess and address risks of modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.

The Act is designed to increase business awareness of modern slavery risks and improve transparency across global supply chains. PPC is not required to lodge an annual statement however we believe we have a corporate responsibility to help improve the integrity and quality of business operations and supply chains. By working together we are able to identify and understand the risks of modern slavery within our operations and our supply chains. By taking this action it is PPC’s belief we are taking steps towards addressing worldwide modern slavery and other related practices.
